Hey gang!  Wanted to bring you all up to speed on a couple of exciting news items involving your club.

First of all, we're very close to selecting the 2010 GCGC geocoin design.  Watch this thread for news concerning the winning entry and how to pre-order your very own GCGC geocoin!

Secondly, we've started this thread for news concerning a proposed bid to bring Geocoinfest 2011 to the Charlotte area.  Check out the announcement there for more detailed information.

It's an exciting summer for Charlotte geocaching!  Come take part in all the action!

For those of you who may have missed the thread, the GCGC is the proud new "clean-upper" of a section of Ballantyne Commons Rd... complete with fancy signs!   

Our first official CITO will be on June 5th at 10AM.  For complete details, see the Cache Page (GC25KJ0).  It's a great way to give back to the community and show them what geocaching is all about.  If you've never been to a CITO before, they're a lot of fun and you get a special geocaching icon for your profile!  Hope to see you there!   

Also, one final reminder to vote for the 2010 GCGC Geocoin if you haven't already done so.  Voting officially ends at noon on Tuesday (June 1)....

Wanted to remind everyone about our upcoming events at Martha Rivers Park in Gastonia on May 22nd.

This is going to be our biggest and best event to date!  Make plans to attend now and let us know by posting your "will attend" logs (GC25KHY) with the # attending, especially if you plan to have lunch so we can be prepared.  Bring along your favorite side dish to share and we'll provide the rest.

We'll have TONS of games and prizes as well as food, fellowship, and maybe a surprise or two!   ...
